What’s your passion? What are you learning? Who are you helping?
Passion: a strong feeling of enthusiasm or excitement for something or about doing something.
Have you ever had the feeling that you were in just the right place, at the right time, doing exactly what you are meant to do? And loving what you’re doing so much that it doesn’t seem like work?
As a massage therapist and bodyworker, CHAI owner/instructor Patricia Babin has that feeling every day.
“In choosing my career, I looked at what makes me feel good, what I like to do and how to use those things to help others. Some of the things I’m passionate about include:
Learning: There are so many interesting things in this world! I am the perennial student! Not only have I taken years of classes and training to educate myself about health and healing, I will continue the learning process as long as I’m on this earth. My brain soaks up information about so many things, and there is much more that I want to know.
Teaching: What good is having all of this great information if I just keep it to myself? Everytime a client is in front of me, I’m teaching them something about how they can live healthier, more fulfilling lives. I love that I’m a part of the plan for my clients, but I can’t be with them all the time, so self-care basics come with the package! And, getting to share information and skills with the students in our Massage Therapy Certification Program is one of the most fun and satisfying things I’m doing with my life.
Helping: I’m so fortunate to be able to use my skills to help people feel better! Having a career that I love includes: clients who come to me with pain and sit up after a session and express how good they feel; students who are learning new concepts and using new found skills because of the teaching they are receiving; and friends and family who come to me for advice on a myriad of subjects and know that I care enough to listen and want to be of service. My hands, my voice and my heart are the tools I use to make a difference in this world.”
