Privacy Policy & Terms of Use

As part of our commitment to maintain the privacy of our web users, Cohutta Healing Arts Institute School of Massage (CHAI) has developed this privacy statement. The statement has two purposes:
1. To educate users about privacy issues
2. To inform users about specific privacy policies and guidelines employed at CHAI

CHAI is committed to ensuring the privacy and accuracy of your confidential information. We do not share personal information gathered from our web servers with anyone other than our staff whose role is to contact you based on your inquiry via our website.

Information Gathered

Our web servers generate temporary logs that contain the following information:
• Internet address (IP) of computer being used
• Referring web page
• Browser used and device type
• Date and time
• Google Analytic Data about pages visited

The aggregate data is used by our web content managers to tune the website for efficiency. Summary reports produced by Google Analytics help our web publishers determine which pages are most popular. For example, if the reports show a particular web page is very popular, that information is used to customize the content of that page and make it easier to find.

Security and Accuracy of Information You Provide

CHAI has deployed extensive security measures to protect against the loss, misuse, or alteration of the information under our control. The information that you provide on our contact forms is used solely for the purpose of corresponding with you in the manner that you state on the form(s). We comply with the Federal CAN-SPAM Act, and make every effort to ensure that our messages are not considered Spam. Of course, you may unsubscribe from any messages we send at any time and you will not receive further electronic messages from us after following the instructions included within the message.

CHAI website uses cookies when a computer’s web browser allows it. Cookies are small pieces of data stored by the web browser. Cookies are often used to remember information about preferences and pages you have visited. Cookies do not actually store personal information, but instead provide web servers with a unique ID for your computer. This information can be retrieved from the server’s own internal database. For example, when you visit some sites on the web you might see a “Welcome Back” message. The first time a site is visited, a cookie is typically set on your computer; when you return, the cookie is read. You can refuse to accept cookies, can disable cookies, and remove cookies from your hard drive. To manage your cookie settings, locate the Internet Options tools for your preferred browser.
