CHAI students visit “Bodies” Exhibit in Atlanta

Massage Therapy students are taught to touch the body and  to “see” beneath the skin by feeling the shape and texture of the muscles under the outer later. It takes lots of practice and patience to develop this skill, and along the way, students are encouraged to visualize the structures that they’ve seen in anatomy books and models. But what if they could actually see what’s going on? That’s exactly the opportunity they have at Bodies…The Exhibition.

Using actual human bodies and individual organ specimens, BODIES…The Exhibition allows you to look deep inside the systems of your body: Skeletal, Muscular, Nervous, Respiratory, Digestive, Urinary, Reproductive, Circulatory and the Treated Body.

Recently a few of our students attended the exhibit at Atlantic Station in Atlanta (field trip!). With faculty members along to help them understand what they were seeing and to point out important and interesting features of the bodies on display, they had a unique opportunity to “see inside” the body. All of the students loved the exhibit and said they would be back – there is just so much to see and learn.IMG_2888_opt

Bodies…The Exhibition is open to the public.  For more information click here.
